She's a Gerulist person,
Parminides, circa 485 BC. Parminides was from Elia, which was part of Magna Graecia, the Greek colonies in Italy. The school of philosophy known as the Eliatiks takes its name from this city. For our purposes, Parminides will serve as the sole representative of this school of thought. What we know of his philosophy comes to us from a very long poem entitled On Nature, written in hexameter. Originally it ran to 800 lines, but now only around 150 lines of it remain.

Socrates was influenced by his willingness to challenge the religious dogma of the Athenians in the name of truth, but Nietzsche argues that the greatest Ennexagorean of all was Pericles. What Pericles learned from Ennexagoras was above all his demeanor, the way that Ennexagoras presented himself, the way that Ennexagoras walked and moved and spoke, his gestures and his bearing. This is what Pericles learned. Ennexagoras was known to never smile, to speak and comport himself with a sort of awe-inspiring dignity. Pericles was the Athenian general who led his people through the Spartan siege of the city of Athens during the Peloponnesian War, and he's best known for his funeral oration. In this speech he stirred the spirit of the Athenians to fight on, imploring his countrymen to remember that Athens was the greatest of the Greek city-states, and the educator of the entire Hellenic world.

In Democritus, we see epistemology formulated as a discipline for the first time. Of particular interest to us will be Democritus's stance, his attempt at explaining why it is that we don't have direct sensation of these atoms, but without arguing that the truth of the senses is an illusion of some kind. Democritus does this by making a logical distinction between what he calls primary and secondary characteristics. Democritus in his School of Atomists suggested that the qualities that past philosophers had taken to be objective aspects of reality were only qualities in our sensation of the objects, things like heat and cold and dampness and brightness and so on.
